QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus (TB-IGRA / QFT-Plus)

QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus is a blood test used to detect immune responses to Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacteria that cause tuberculosis (TB). It helps identify TB infection, including latent TB infection, and is useful for screening individuals at risk of TB. Unlike the tuberculin skin test, it is generally not affected by prior BCG vaccination. This test cannot distinguish latent TB infection from active TB disease; further clinical evaluation may be required.
